Not So Secret Operation “Eliminate Muffin Top 2013″

Happy New Years! It’s that time of the year where everyone is reflective of the good, the  bad and the ugly of the previous year. Not for me. This year I want to be the embodiment of Einstein’s  quote

“Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow.”

The difference is… I’m going to try to live for today by running for tomorrow. I’ll train smarter and attempt to stay injury free. This last year was a running masterpiece followed by downtrodden failure. I managed to log less than 500 miles. In May I was pacing to get 1500 miles in by years end. Then I ran the Mt Si 50, got severe tendinitis and never quite got back into it. Then came the move to Oregon, the new job at Harry & David, stress.. .blah blah blah.

If I want this operation to be a success I’ve got to get back out there. One foot in front of the other and start running on a daily or every other day basis to log the miles. Run with friends. Maybe even, gasp, join the gym and lift some weights with the hubby. (Grr… I hate lifting weights and the soreness that comes with it.) But here I go. My goal is to take a photo at the end of the year and have my pants fitting better and have a less visible to no-muffin-top left photo in 8-10 months.


So join me in 2013 in my goal to log 1500 miles. Help hold me accountable for getting my mileage in and up as I attempt to eliminate the muffin top, keep my work/life balance in check, and maybe run a few marathons. :)
