Christi Olson: Running through life. One step at a time.

“but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will RUN and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

Isaiah 40:30-31

Life is like a race. Everyone is running frantically from here to there trying to come in first place. The question I had to ask myself this last year was, come in first place for what? In 2011, I paused to ask myself “WHY?”  I had worked myself ragged (and sick) and what I had to show for it was a paycheck and the fact that I was literally running 6-12 miles a day to de-stress from the daily grind. I made the conscious decision to start living my life for me, to represent my values and beliefs, instead of chasing after what others had told me should be my dream or my goal.

This is my journey written down.

The journey of me running through life – sometimes literally running, other times about the steps I’m taking to help me become the person I want to be.

My life is crazy and hectic, an amalgamation of the different parts of who I am. The digital marketer who loves analyzing data and is constantly trying to learn new things. The search marketing blogger who is trying to keep my insights and take-aways from managing large scale SEM campaigns up-to-date and relevant. The runner who wishes I had enough free time (and endurance) to get 10-16 mile runs in each day. The wife who tries to cook a homemade meal at least 5 days a week, and hopes that someday I’ll be a “Queen of the Kitchen” like my mother was before me. The wife who also tries to make our house a home, despite the fact that I hate cleaning.  The small business owner who started sewing non-slip running headbands to help pay for my running habit and to justify buying a new sewing machine. The friend, who has an open ear to listen and comfort you when you’re down, or bring over a bottle of Prosecco or Red Wine to celebrate your successes. The some-day mother, currently to the worlds cutest Pug, Bella,  and a super cuddly not-so-mini Schnauzer, Elsa. The follower of Jesus, who hopes that you can see his love through me and how I’m living my life through him.

I hope that you’ll enjoy the journey and maybe learn a few new things yourself along the way.
